Places to Visit in Belarus

- Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park -













It is located not far from Brest, on the border with Poland. The park was founded in 1939. However, bans on logging and hunting for bison existed even more ancient times for many centures the Lithuanian princess, Polish kings, the Russian tsars alternately owned the forest, preserving for themselves this virgin forest with a unique animal and vegetable world. Therefore, Belovezhskaya Pushcha can rightfully be considered one of the first reserves inthe world.


 Pushcha is one of the last ''islets'' of the ones endless European forests. In 1992,it was included in the list of the World Natural and Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In 1993, by decision of UNESCO, it was included in the system of biosphere  reserves, through which environmentalists monitor global changes in the environment occuring on the planet.

        Flora and fauna





Here you can see giant trees, which are about a thousand, a raretree for Belarus - the rockyoak and the only flat natural feer white population in Europe, as well as giant  trees in which beekeepers-bortniki extracted honey of wild bees.






Many species of plants and animals in this reserve find protection against destruction. And just as an inseparable link of times perceive visitors to the Pushcha built in 1907,a trough for bison.
